About the Crosbys

The second independent music club recognized by the University, the Crosbys are the only all male a cappella group at Binghamton University. Like many collegiate a cappella groups, the Crosbys, founded in 1983, are deeply rooted in traditions tied to certain social events, attire, or means of address. The Crosbys usually perform in jeans and blazers; their alumni song -- a collegiate a cappella tradition in which alumni present at the concert may join current members to sing -- is "Jack." A two week tour occurs each winter, succeeded by The Jam, a large performance at the end of each semester.

The Crosbys typically compete in the ICCA competition every other year, as do many prestigious collegiate a cappella groups. They are unique in progressing to the the championship round four times in the eleven years of ICCA existence, performing at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and finally winning the trophy during the finals held at the Beacon Theater on Broadway. They have also won many other awards such as Best Album, Best Soloist, Best Arrangements and Best Choreography

April 3, 2007.....

Hey everyone out there in singer land, welcome to the newly updated Binghamton Crosbys web site. Although it is still slightly in shambles, it's a big improvement on the vegetable of a site it used to be. Keep checking back for more updates like contact information, pictures, and gigs.

In the meantime, our spring jam, aptly named "Country Blumpkin Jamboree" is on Saturday, April 28th in the Anderson Center Chamber Hall at Binghamton University.

Also, The Crosbys will once again be competing in the ICCA International Finals on April 21, 2007, at 7 p.m. at Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center. We won 1st place in the northeast semi-final competition on March 31, as well as earning an award for best choreography. This will mark the Crosby 4th finals appearance, a record for the ICCA.
